Jigten Sumgon’s “Introduction to Mahamudra, The Co-emergent Unification” is a wonderfully clear and concise yet thorough practice manual for anyone interested in practicing meditation. It begins with particular preliminary practices that are common to many systems of Vajrayana practice and explains the graduated methods for developing calm-abiding (shamatha) meditation. It then follows with methods for cultivating insight (vipassana) and identifying particular aspects of experience that are necessary to realize the true nature of mind. The text then concludes with some final words of advice for sustaining ongoing continuity in practice. This is a rare and unique opportunity to receive essential meditation instruction from a master with a highly developed level of experience and understanding that comes from many years of dedicated practice in intensive retreat. You won’t want to miss it! |
