As part of spiritual director Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche’s unfolding vision, we are continuing the next phase of construction on our center’s expansion and renovation plan.

Construction Budget Total $250,000

  • Build out Interior of New Shrine Hall: Space and seating for 90,  new A/C, cedar wall interior, Tray ceiling with mandala mural, wood altar and built-ins, seating and decorations
  • Construct Exterior Improvements: Parking lot, landscaping, water well, exterior lighting, signage, new septic, new ADA bathroom, road, pond, irrigation system, storm drains, etc.

The Vision

We are a member-supported organization operating under the precious guidance of Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche. Our center’s mission is to share and sustain Buddhist teachings and practices through the unbroken lineage of Drikung Kagyu teachers and visiting teachers from other lineages. We aspire to offer a space where people of all religious and cultural backgrounds can study, contemplate and practice the Buddhadharma, and learn the ancient arts of Tibetan meditation, yoga, and philosophy.

Our goals are:

  • To support our Buddhist community and offer teachings by our resident Lama, Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche as supported by our resident translator, Virginia Blum
  • To continue to invite visiting Buddhist teachers from around the world
  • To expand offerings to beginners
  • To increase our visibility within the local community and the larger Tampa Bay Area
  • Provide place and opportunity for extended retreat

The Project

Since 2012, Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche and members of the Drong Ngur Sangha have purchased a 1.6-acre site, rebuilt interim shrine room/guest quarters, renovated Rinpoche’s living quarters, and completed our new shrine hall building shell with no debt incurred.

We seek to raise $250,000 to complete the project with the intention that it will bring benefit to countless beings for many generations to come.

Drong Ngur is fortunate to have a resident lama who is skilled and understands the construction process. In addition, the sangha has several members who are experienced in land development, contracting, appraisal, project management, and other real estate expertise.

When completed Drong Ngur Jangchubling aspires to host large gatherings for retreats and empowerments, future Drikung Monlams, Losar celebrations, residential teaching series, cultural events and much more.

The Merit of Contribution

The benefits of establishing, building, and operating the Drong Ngur Jangchubling Buddhist Center are immeasurable. Even beyond this lifetime, the vast merit we will accumulate through contributing our hard work, financial resources, and skills towards construction and renovation will last as long as our Center exists, helping countless beings on their path to enlightenment.

As HE Garchen Rinpoche has said, the actual generation of merit comes from benefiting the center with a loving mind. Therefore, all of us now have the opportunity to gather vast merit through supporting Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche and Drong Ngur Jangchubling complete construction and renovation.

You can do this through offering tax-deductible donations, physical work, and any other methods possible to you. Even beyond this lifetime, you will gather merit for as long as this the Drong Ngur Jangchubling Buddhist Center exists.
