Vajrasattva, or Dorje Sempa in Tibetan, means Indestructible Hero. Vajrasattva embodies all the Buddhas and the infinite peaceful and wrathful deities. Vajrasattva simultaneously represents the indestructible heroic Buddha nature that is within each and every one of us. Every time we sincerely reconnect with our Buddha nature, it helps us to purify our past negative deeds, negative habitual patterns, and tenacious obscurations of the mind. Through training in this practice, we can see the infinite pure, enlightened potential inside ourselves and others that we can never ultimately lose but only temporarily forget. Vajrasattva meditation and mantra recitation give us the tools of the four powers to strongly connect with this primordial redemption of Buddha nature hidden within us all. Vajrasattva practice is thus renowned as the best Vajrayana method to purify our minds of all past negativity and delusion.

Drupön will bestow the very special Empowerment of the One Hundred Syllable Dharani Mantra of Vajrasattva. This particular empowerment tradition can be traced back to the great enlightened master Phagmo Drupa (1110-1170), the root teacher of Jigten Sumgön, who founded the Drigung Kagyü lineage. The instructions on Vajrasattva meditation and recitation that will be presented at this event are from the Drigung Fivefold Mahamudra tradition that Drupön himself practiced extensively in long retreat. The sadhana and commentary on Vajrasattva practice come directly from Vajradhara Dharmakirti's Fivefold Mahamudra Instructions. These Vajrasattva practice materials will be available to all who attend the event. Join us for this special opportunity to learn, study, and practice this unique and precious Vajrayana Buddhist tradition to thoroughly purify and cleanse our body, speech, and mind of all negativities.

Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche

Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche was born in the Nag-chu District of Tibet. He entered school at the age of eight, excelled in his education, and was appointed as teacher when he was 17 years old. After continuing this work for some time, his natural inclination towards the Dharma developed into a determination to pursue a formal spiritual path. Drupon-la entered Drong Ngur Monastery where he became a student of the eminent Buddhist scholar, Lama Kedrub Siddhi Rinpoche. He engaged in the study of a wide range of Drikung Buddhist traditions, including ritual practices, mandala and stupa design, construction, and the art of producing bronze images of sacred beings. Subsequently, he was made director of the project to construct a new main stupa for the monastery. After completing this formidable project, he went on a pilgrimage to Drikung Thil Monastery where he met the great yogin and scholar, Drubwang Pachung Rinpoche, and received profound essence instructions in Mahamudra.
